Virtual Live Read!
Michigan Public Radio has listed Joseph Kimble’s picture book, “Mr. Mouthful Learns His Lesson,” among the books by Michigan authors to help young kids get through these times of social distancing. A link to Michigan Radio’s conversation with the author can be found here.
The book has won multiple awards, including the seal of approval from the National Parenting Center, which called it “superb,” “funny, silly, creative,” and “a book that you will fall in love with.”
Kids (and parents too) will laugh at the crazy misadventures of Mr. Mouthful and his pet monkey, Dupree, and kids will learn some new words at the same time. The book is delightfully lyrical and full of wordplay. And the illustrations by Kerry Bell are, as the National Parenting Center says, “fantastic.”
Follow Mr. Mouthful on Facebook for updates about the book and its sequel.
Join us online on Tuesday, April 14, at 2pm Eastern time, or Wednesday, April 15, at 2pm Pacific time for a Facebook LIVE read of “Mr. Mouthful” by the author, Joseph Kimble.
Schedule a Virtual Zoom Visit FREE!
Teachers and (brand-new) homeschool parents—we’re scheduling Virtual Author Visits. The Virtual Visits are for your classroom, school, or online group. Join via a Zoom call, and see how the “Mr. Mouthful” book came to life. Author Joseph Kimble will show the handwritten drafts of his book and how the artwork was selected; interact with your students; and answer questions about the book and how it was produced.
There will be lots of laughter and learning for kids in grades K–5.
This 1-hour Zoom session can be requested from our School Visit page and can include your classroom students, a group of new homeschool kids, or your public-library patrons. It’s totally FREE!
